Even as the stage is set for completion of government formation at centre, Assocation of Democratic Reforms ( ADR) has startling revelations about some the Members of the newly elected Lok Sabha. According to ADR, nearly half of the newly-elected Lok Sabha members have criminal charges against them. This is  a 26 per cent increase as compared to 2014.
The ADR said that as many as 233 MPs belonging to all major parties and incluidng the ruling party, have criminal changes. However, it raises a lot of questions over the role of Election Commission in preventing people with criminal record.
ironically, the ruling BJP has 116  MPs followed by 29 MPs from the Congress. Even JDU has 13, 10 from DMK and nine from the TMC.
